Windows Xp Service Pack 3, So whats the future gonna be ?

Windows XP, SP3 will include not only thousands of fixes and patches that have been issued since the XP’s debut three years ago, but some features imported from the Vista as well. According to Neosmart Technologies, Windows XP SP3, build 3205, as claimed in their website over the weekend, contains these “backported” new features in addition to the patches.
Network access protection (NAP) an enterprise policy enforcement technology is going to be included. It will be a means of inspecting client PC’s to be inspected when they request access to a corporate network. The individual machines can then be updated or blocked from an access if they do not meet security criteria.
A kernel module containing several encryption algorithms that can be accessed by third party developers and a new windows activation scheme that doesn’t require users to enter a product key are couple of other new things.
The service pack 3 is expected to breathe new life into this six year vintage operating system. One evident move was to extend the time limit of retails sales support of XP and sale of XP powered PC’s by distributors by another five months back to June 2008. Microsoft had announced the inclusion of NAP by SP3 and that it’ll be included into the yet to be finalized Windows Server 2008. Also announced last week was a “get legal” program to let companies buy large quantities of Windows XP Professional through their usual resellers.
No comments were forthcoming from Microsoft on either the leak or the new features claimed by Neosmart.
