Using Twitter for Social Networking
Twitter has been generating some buzz these days. Almost everyone who is into social networking has signed up for a Twitter account in the last several months. So what exactly is the deal with Twitter? Does it live up to the hype or is it just another distraction? For some, Twitter had provided a lot of benefits because bloggers have seen an increase in their subscribers once they started using Twitter. It has also provided a way for you to connect with “A-listers” in the blogosphere in the way that was not available before.
However, Twitter is not without its downside because its laid-back atmosphere makes it easy for everything to communicate about just about anything. Although this can be seen as a good thing, there is also a danger in it because it can destroy your “reputation” when you are using it to create business relationships.
You can see a person’s true color in Twitter. Conversations here are far different in a more formal virtual setting. Gut reactions can be seen and felt so you can find out whether a person is combative or reactionary in nature. Overall though, Twitter is a great social networking tool. It can enhance your business or it can be a means of entertainment when you have nothing better to do.
