Vonage Recovery
The popular online telephony system, Vonage, seem to be getting back to its feet. There is no question that Vonage provides unparalleled service to its clients but its financial statements has been suffering in recent years. However, the company is reversing this trend when it signed up for a deal for Covad, a DSL provider.
Coval will allow the company to have speeds of up to 3 megabits per second and up to 6 Mbps to small business and residential users. This development allows Vonage to bundle its service offerings with internet services so this adds an extra income stream for Vonage. It is important to take note that in the past, customers were forced to get internet services form phone companies and cable companies. They will have to pay for Vonage services aside from this.
The inconvenience has been eliminated though because of the bundled services from Vonage in the near future. Another concern for the company is its patent infringement lawsuit against Verizon Communication; mounting losses had occurred the previous year when customer stopped their subscriptions. With all the positive developments in the company today though, it is apparent that Vonage is here to stay for the long term.
