Google Is Talking Acquisition with Digg
Digg, the popular social news site, is usually the center of attention when it comes to acquisition rumors. Right now, the company is under final negotiations with Google. It is estimated that the company will be sold for $200 million. According to TechCrunch report, the two companies want to bring Digg to Google News group. It might take a few weeks for the deal to be cemented but it is almost certain it will push though.
Just a few months ago, rumors have been swirling that Digg might be purchased by Google, Microsoft, and several other tech groups. This whipped Digg users into panic but the company CEO Jay Adelson assured users last March that Digg is focused on improving its features. But the silence in the company right now is curious. And it is only a matter of time before Digg officially becomes part of the Google family.
The main problems right now is that current Digg users might have some concerns once the site is flooded with new users. Digg is not known to be welcoming so it will be interesting to see how things unfold.
