AddingtingGames Penetrating Social Media
Nickelodeon’s AddingtingGames is penetrating social media. The company, one of the most popular gaming website in American, is becoming a social meeting place for Generation Y as well as their younger siblings.
The company will announce that it will turn its Flash-based games website into a more interactive media to form a community among teen players. In fact, by the end of October, AddingtingGames visitors can expect to create their own profile complete with user name, games played, their high scores, a friends list, and even photos. Players will also find out high-scoring friends among their list of people who played similar games. Because of this, players can get to communicate with the high-score players and challenge them when they go online.
Users also have the option to use the IM application to chat with other members. Despite these features though, Dave Williams, the company’s senior vice president of the Games Group is careful not to categorize their site as another social network. AddingtingGames currently attracts 10.7 million users in the US and it is stepping up its game to integrate casual gaming, user-generated content, and socializing with each other.
