How Important is Your Page Rank?
A lot of people argue over the importance of Page Rank in determining Google search results. Having a low PR may indicate that you are doing something wrong while a high PR indicates that you are doing something correctly. However, it is important to realize that Page Rank or PR does play a role in determining your ranking in search results but it is not the only significant factor there is.
Take note that when you type a keyword in the Google search engine, the software will start looking through its database for relevant results. It crawls into the title tags, the meta tags, and even how the keywords are treated (ie, italic, bold, or bulleted). Of course it also considers PR. It is impossible that a website with a lower PR can rank higher in search engines compared to a site with high PR. It simply means that when all the factors are combined, the site with low PR is more relevant in the particular search.
So think of PR as the tiebreaker. When everything else between two sites are equal, the PR will determine which site will rank higher compared to the other. It is true that PR is important but don’t forget to look into other factor as well.
