Ultimate Linux Transformation Pack for Windows Xp
While keep XP on my desktop mainly for gaming and a few other things(yeah some time i work tooo), it’s the Ubuntu ruling my desktop generally. There’s quite a bit of visual customization available that makes it interesting. I thought, I would show you how to get a Linux-like look on your boring XP landscape.( oh i am sorry Mr. Gates that usual XP Visual Style is too old)

VMware Fusion for Mac OS X software was the only one to make news, until now. My first LAPTOP, technology driven
Posting/blogging is so much fun, but it is more when coupled with mobility.
Ok, no guessing games in this post. Yes, in my last post in the developer’s desk section i had mentioned my unfulfilled wish of a laptop, the first one for me, thanks to my father the wish has come true. Yeppie, even i went mobile computing, thanks to my father, i got a branded, sleek, cheap, good performing COMPAQ V6307TU. Vista was of no use to me so i choose to get my favorite WINDOWS XP, and the machine despite being a celeron is runnig great. And i want to present the full story here in the form of a product review.
First of all thanks to technology and to cheap broadband networks flooding in INDIA. That has transformed the life of an average Indian from, a simple and vulnerable consumer, to very technology aware and powerful consumer.
Yes, as soon as i got the green signal from my father that i can get a LAPTOP, i began the hunt for the best configuration, performance, shuffling through brands, best offers, and all that would fit in my meager budget, ONLY 28000 Indian bucks.
Yes, no wonders, technology has evolved so much, both commercially and the phenomenon of mass reach, that today getting a good Laptop bet, for this amount is not impossible, yet earlier it was. Infact, today in the around 30,000 INR range, you have a lot of options, but believe me it is the best grab in the current market.
I around overnight, (yes i got the thing going on in the afternoon of 31st July and wrapped the deal in the noon of 1st August ), juggled through all the possible forums, hardware sites, laptop specialist online stores, HP and Compaq India portal, and more brands, and yes the advice from friends and local hardware vendors, and decided to grab this one, because it was the best deal i can cut in my range, so in the midnight of 31st July, i took my decision and got to take nap.
The best result of all this hardwork and market analysis was that the store i went, couldn’t cheat me. I got this model in the exact price it was every where in India, exactly 27,000 INR, not a single penny more. Ofcourse i paid for an extra 2GB pen drive and 2 meter CAT5 cable, but i was happy with the whole deal, i even got a sleek and stylish HP carry bag.
So, the review ends here, because i am in a hurry to pack the bag and my Laptop for my engineering college i am going to join. I am putting here, all the pics of my new LAPTOP, from many sides, and some special effects too !! (I am slowly getting better with image editing.)
OUR TAKE: Whatever you plan to get, do a thorough market analysis, for best configuration and the lowest prices.
The configuration:
P.S: Actually i got Celeron 1.86 Ghz, here it’s mentioned only 1.6 ghz
And My LAPTOP, cool eh ?
