4GB Notebook
Micron Technology, Inc. is experimenting with 4 GB DDR3 modules which have been designed to use 2 GB components. They are expecting this development to provide the industry with its highest density notebook computers using DDR3 modules. The high density, low power, and fast processing speed of the Micron portfolio DDR3 modules allow the system to perform even more effectively and utilize its power efficiently.
The company announced that it had received a validation from Intel on the 512 MB, 1 GB, and 2 GB DDR3 modules for the Intel Centrino 2 processor for mobile technology. The company’s 4 GB module is currently undergoing validation at Intel. The DDR3 module can support data ranges of as much as 1333 megabits per second. This enables better graphics and system performance that enhances user experience.
The DDR3 also supply voltages at 1.5-volts as opposed to DDR2 voltage of 1.8 volts. The result is power savings of up to 30%. Currently, the 512 MB, 1 GB, and the 2 GB models are now in mass production and the 2 GB-based DDR3 as well as 4 GB modules will be mass produced by the second quarter of 2008.

USB thumb drives are declining in prices so computer users should take advantage of this opportunity to back up their data. Flash Memory Card Movies
A lot of people see the internet as the easiest way to get their movies with as little hassle as possible. Yet, Chris Armstrong, the founder of PortoMedia, is seeing an alternative. This is because the company is settling up various kiosks that will enable customers to download their favorite movies into flash memory or other supported portable hard drive.
These kiosks are conceptualized to hold 350 to 5,000 titles so users can have a varied selection. All the customer needs to do is to plug the memory device from PortoMedia, enter their pin code, and rent or buy the movie of their choice. When they get home, they can simply put this device into a dock that is connected to their televisions.
The key feature of this service is the proprietary USB interface which allows the transfer of data at a faster rate compared to a standard USB device. A standard-definition movie can quickly load into the memory device in eight seconds to sixty seconds. Meanwhile, high definition movies will load at a rate of eighteen to forty five seconds. As of right now though, Armstrong declined to name the movie studios which gave the company permission to rent out the movies.

Dell XPS 410
The Dell XPS 410 definitely contains a lot of features when you consider its affordable price. However, its power can only be described as modest compared to other power desktops. The Dell XPS 410 is not really notable because there is nothing unique in the features available in this computer. Despite this, users will be pleased to find that it comes with the Google Desktop, PC-Cillin, Microsoft Works, and the Windows Vista installation disc. It is quite easy to get familiar with this desktop because aside from being easy to set-up, it also has very helpful guides for novices.
If you want to look at the inside of the PC, you will be happy to know that its slide can open easily without the need for a screwdriver. Its floppy cable as well as the plastic cable can block the access to the inside but you can get around this by simply moving them aside.
The Dell XPS 410 has a lot of ports, eight to be exact. But you will need USB adapters because the system do not have serial, PS/2, or parallel ports for your peripherals. It more than makes up for this with its two FireWire ports though so you will be able to support high definition audio.
