The Defense Department Bans Google from Taking Images
Citing national security concerns, the Defense Department has banned Google from taking images and videos of its bases. However, because most of the images were taken on public areas, the military may not have the right to order the videos pilled. A feature of Google, the Google Maps Street View, offers visitors ground-level views of around 30 cities in the United States. Computer users will be able to drive down the steers virtually just by using their mouse to adjust their views.
The Street View has become incredibly popular especially for tourists who are looking for a road trip in unfamiliar places. But Street View has also become a magnet for controversy. For example, it is inevitable that some people may be captured in the images so this becomes a privacy concern for these people as well.
But probably the more serious concerns are those that were raised by Pentagon. This is because these views include those of bases and security on those installations. Any viewer will be able to see where the guards are posted and how the barriers in Pentagon work. In addition, it shows where people go in and out of the military building. So Pentagon insists that this is a security threat for military installations.

When you want to sign up for a Gmail account, you will need to navigate through Captcha, these are words and letters that need to be accurately typed so that the system can determine that you are a human and not an automated program that is designed to send spam messages. But Captchas are no longer holding up against the attacks of spammers all over the internet. And Gmail is their latest target.
Captcha actually stands for Completely Automated Public Turing tests, it is designed to differentiate human from robots. Typically successful, Captchas has prevented a lot of spammers from opening e-mail accounts in Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail. These accounts are popular because web administrators do not want to blacklist these domains.
But according to Websense Security Labs, spammers had already found a way to break Captchas. There are public domain tools that enable anyone to break simple Captchas these days. There are two kinds of attacks, the first is using offshore workers to break the codes and the second is network reliable. Computers work together for the attackers. But what makes the attack on Gmail so interesting is that the attacks seem to be automated. If this is the case, then spammers may be well on their way in sending more spam.
