Nickelodeon’s AddingtingGames is penetrating social media. The company, one of the most popular gaming website in American, is becoming a social meeting place for Generation Y as well as their younger siblings.

The company will announce that it will turn its Flash-based games website into a more interactive media to form a community among teen players. In fact, by the end of October, AddingtingGames visitors can expect to create their own profile complete with user name, games played, their high scores, a friends list, and even photos. Microsoft Dropping HD DVD

Microsoft recently revealed that it will drop the HD DVD add-on in it Xbox 360 game console. HD DVD is the internet drive that supports the original DVD format but Microsoft says that it did not expect this development to have a great impact on its game console business.

However, the company will continually offer warranties for the consoles with the add-ons even while their existing inventory will be on sale at half its original price. Users should not worry about their current Xbox because of this. They can still find the necessary parts for this console when the need arises. The HD DVD format had certainly been a great addition to the Microsoft Xbox but you can be certain that there would be more unique surprises for you in the future.

In addition, high definition movies will still be available for download using its Xbox Love service though. They did not state whether the Blu-ray feature will be dropped next. DirectX 10: Disappointing.

“Many of the newest Windows games will take full advantage of the next-generation graphics technology in Windows Vista called DirectX 10.” says Microsoft. Gamers(mostly) don’t care what is behind the all hyped up DirectX 10. They care about the power it gives and the new feel it gives. And sorry to say, DX10 is not upto the mark.Wondering why? DX10 will only run on systems which have Windows Vista and a fairly high-end graphics card. Developers are really thinking whether to use DX10 considering the slow upgrades by users to Vista.

The upcoming games : Call of Juarez, Lost Planet and Company of heroes have the same kind of the DX9 feel with extra graphical improvements and some new features. Crave even ran a DX10 machine and DX9 machine side by side and it was nearly impossible to detect differences.

OUR TAKE: Don’t be sad that you just upgraded to Vista hoping to see some real game experience. Wait for more titles(more like kind hearted Devs) before you throw that machine to dogs.
