I’ve always marveled at the sheer ingenuity of scientists who come up with the weirdest and most dummy gadgets for personal use.I mean does anyone actually use these items and do they really help anyone and who on earth had the time to come up with this rubbish.

Google Unveils Mac Developer Playground

Google has finally launched a mac developer playground where mac users can find various products to suite their various needs. Google initially had many products that were available for desktop and mobile users but there was no specific are a for mac users to find products that were just made for them. Seeking to the needs of the mac users Google rectified this problem by opening the mac developer play ground where the users of mac can now look for both open source projects and other demos.

The mac playground has opened with six projects online that are Stats, GData, MacFUSE, iPhone Disk, Cover Story and Quartz Composer Patches. The Google product manager Karen Grnberg explained to mac world is the project on the mac world are the product of the 20% of the time that Google allows its employees to have to work on their side projects. The engineers also use their spare time to work on many other projects. He also added that there won’t be any specific schedule for the products that are soon going to be available on the site. These products will be developed and released when they are ready for public comsumption.

Yahoo and Sony get together for user generated content

Yahoo and Sony BGM have now teamed up to provide with user generated content. Yahoo has now declared that Sony BGM has agreed and allowed the users to upload video content by means of the content portal available. This content can also be music from the record company’s artists. This agreement is a part of the current licensing deal that is existing now between the two companies.

Google Launches Moblie Platform : Andriod

 

Andriod is the latest mobile software platform that is being developed by Google. Google’s GPhone may be real by 2008

Google is in the works of coming up with a mobile phone by early 2008, to counter the rival iPhone’s ever increasing popularity.

According to the Telegraph, Google’s is crossing fingers that it’s ‘GPhone” will be as well-known as Apple’s iPhone, which was launched in the US in June amidst a lot of hype.

Several Google services such as search engine, e-mail and interactive maps, will be loaded on to the forthcoming GPhone.

At present, company is showing the prototype to mobile phone manufacturers and network operators while it is polishing up technical specifications to provide a mobile web browsing experience that is superior to current software, stated a report in Wall Street Journal. Google has apparently penned a deal with a Taiwanese firm to design the phone. The Journal further suggests that Google intends offering free mobile subscriptions, subsidized by ads in search results and software applications.

One manufacturer believes that the phone could be launched in Europe at a 3GSM Conference early in 2008.
