BitTorrent’s battle for available bandwidth increases

The increase in the rate of downloads of free multimedia content from the internet like movies videos etc and the vast download of available music on the internet some ISPs are now putting a stop on the free flowing transfer of bandwidth. Comcast is one of the leading isps that have started to target the bandwidth sucking applications like Bit torrent by limiting the amount of bandwidth available to these applications.Comcast justifies that this is necessary to ensure that a handful of customers do not gobble more that their bandwidth allocated quota and consequently slow down the speed for the other users. Bit torrent and other torrent companies are obviously not happy by the way the ISP’s are singling out their applications and restricting the bandwidth as his is potentially threatening the growth and use of their models. Bit torrent in particular has many deals with Hollywood with the right to distribute the tv shows and movies using it peer to peer
