Apple Introduces Final Cut Server
Apple announced that it will start shipping their product known as the “Final Cut Server”. This is basically software that provides solution for work-flow automation as well as media asset management. The Final Cut Server is a server application that is scalable and it can automatically catalogue the collection of assets. It also has the capability to search multiple network volumes and hard drivers. Users can now view, annotate, and then approve any content from any location using a local computer.
Because of the various features presented by the Final Cut Server, it is the “choice of editors”. Collaboration between people becomes easier as they can effectively communicate and transmit content easily, quickly, and conveniently. In fact, a user can even search from the Mac platform or the PC platform.
The search can be conducted by using keywords or with combinations of XML, IPTC, and XMP metadata. In addition, there is a wide range of controls that will enable a user to access specific assets or individual projects. The Final Cut Server is definitely a welcome development in today’s environment where content is becoming king. You can expect that more people will take advantage of this opportunity to streamline their work flow in order to become more efficient and productive.
